The theme this month is Masculine Cards
I find that trying to make a masculine birthday card much harder than other cards. As it was my son-in-laws birthday last week and he is into DIY I decided to make a wood effect card.
I decided to use a technique that I have used with the Tailored Punch but this time using the Stitched Triangle Dies.
How to make my masculine birthday card.
I started off by making a 14.85cm x 10.5cm card base using Basic White Thick card stock. Next I cut a 14.3xm x 10cm mat layer using Basic Black card stock.
I then chose which wood effect DSP I wanted to use from the In Good Taste DSP pack. Next I die cut various triangles out and laid them onto the Basic Black mat layer and moved them around until I was happy with the layout. Then I stuck them all down leaving a border around each one.
I trimmed around the edge of the Basic Black mat layer and used some of the off cuts to fill in the smaller areas. Once I was happy I stuck it onto the Whisper White Thick card base.
For the sentiment I stamped the Many Messages stamp using Black Tuxedo Memento ink and my Stamparatus so I could redo any areas that did not stamp properly. Next I die cut them out. With this stamp set I was able to get loads of sentiments for future cards. I then stuck the sentiment onto the card at the bottom.
