Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.

This month’s theme is: Using a Sketch.

This Month’s Sketch

Photograph of Sketch for this month's Using A Sketch Blog.

This month we are using a sketch so I thought I would show you how to make a card and a scrapbook/memory keeping layout using the same sketch. I also wanted to show that you can use our NEW Two-Tone card stock for both cards and scrap/memory keeping layouts.

Using a Sketch to make a card

Photograph of finished card using a sketch.

To make my card using a sketch I decided to use a Basic White portrait card base. I then cut a piece of the yellow check paper from the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper to make a mat layer and stuck it to the card base. Next I cut a strip of Gorgeous Grape card stock and tore it along both edges to show the white core. If you pull it towards you then you see the white core. I then stuck this piece onto the yellow check paper.

I then die cut out the hexagon. Once using Basic Black card stock and another using Basic White card stock. I stamped the sentiment’ we are meant to bee’ onto the Basic White hexagon using Black Memento ink. Next I stuck the Basic White hexagon onto the card front and then stuck the Basic Black frame around it.

I them stamped the small bee body onto Daffodil Delight card stock using Black Memento ink before I die cut it out. I then stamped the smiley face onto the body. Next I die cut out the antenna using Basic Black card stock and the small wings using vellum. These I stuck to the back of the bee before I added the bee to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then doodled dashes over the corners of the card using the Journaling pen to show the bee flying.

Finally I die cut out the small square from the Stylish Shapes dies using Basic White card stock. I used a scrap of the Gorgeous Grape Two-Tone card stock to die cut the flowers before adding them to the die cut square. To finish off the card I used some of the Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to the die cut flowers.

Using a Sketch to make a Scrapbook/Memory Keeping Layout Page

I made the scrapbook/memory keeping layout page using a sheet of Basic White A4 card stock. All the other elements I made the same as the card but just bigger. I add a photo to the large hexagon and some journaling to the large square.

I will now be able to add my A4 layout to an A4 ring binder that I already have on my shelf.

I do hope that you have enjoyed seeing how I made both the card and the scrapbook/memory keeping layout page using a sketch. It was really easy to enlarge the card to an A4 piece of card stock.

Why not have a go yourself at making a card or a scrapbook/memory keeping layout page using a sketch and please do share it onto my Facebook Page.
