Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to a New Year and to this month’s Blog Hop.

The Theme this month is LOVE.

When I saw this month’s theme I was initially stuck as to what I could do as I tend not to order stamp sets that are for Valentines Day cards so I hunted through the stamp sets I had and those that had a Love sentiment. I found the Plentiful Plants stamp set and matching dies so I decided to use these to design a universal card for someone you love.

How I made my Universal Card for Someone You Love

I started by cutting a Basic White portrait card base which I put to one side. Next I cut a mat layer using Gray Granite card stock. I then embossed the mat layer using the Bricks & Mortar 3D embossing folder to make a brick wall. Then using sponge daubers I smooshed Early Espresso ink onto the lower bricks and Mossy Meadow ink over the raised bricks to give a more detailed wall.

How I made the hanging basket for my Universal Card for Someone You Love

First I die cut the hanging basket using Coastal Cabana card stock. I then cut a piece of Coastal Cabana Bakers Twine and pushed it through the hole at the top of the hanging basket. Next I tied knots above the hole to look like macrame. I then stamped a pot image using Pumpkin Pie ink and die cut it out. It needed a slight trim to fit the hanging basket.

Next I stamped the various plants using a selection of green inks and die cut them out before adding them to the top of the pot. Some did need cutting so the leaves came through the die cut ropes to make it look more natural. I also die cut some leaves using Garden Green card stock and slotted them in between the stamped leaves. I decided to add the glue to the bottom of the leaves so that the tops lifted up off the page again to make it look more natural. Next I stuck the mat layer onto the Basic White card base.

How I finished off my Universal Care for Someone You Love

To finish off the card I stamped the Love You and So Very Much sentiments onto Basic White card stock using Black Memento ink and punched it out using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch. I used strips of sticky noted to help me make it smaller. This then enabled me to punch out another full size mat layer. I added the stamped sentiment to the mat layer. Next I added a piece of Coastal Cabana Bakers Twine across the sentiment before sticking onto the card base.

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing how I made my Universal Card for Someone You Love. It would look lovely with a garden voucher inside. Why not have a go at making a similar card yourself and please do share it onto my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
