Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is a Fancy Fold Card.

For this month’s blog hop I found a two Flap Fancy Fold Card that just popped up onto my Facebook which was one of the Mystery Monday Stamping cards by Sharon Armstrong a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator in Texas. As all of her measurements are for the American market who use a different sized card stock I had to design it using A4 card stock.

How I designed my two flap fancy fold card base.

First I curt a landscape card base using Evening Evergreen card stock. Then I cut the front flap at 7.5cm from the middle score line. I then cut a 14cm x 8cm piece of Evening Evergreen card stock and scored it at 1.5cm to make a hinge.

Next I cut the mat layers using Calypso Coral card stock. The first mat layer for the inside of the card I cut at 14.4cm x 10cm. The second mat layer for the left hand flap I cut at 7cm x 10cm. Finally I cut a mat layer for the right hand side flap at 7.5cm x 12cm.

I then stuck the piece with the flap onto the back of the large mat layer before sticking it onto the inside of the card. Next I stuck the other two mat layers onto the flaps.

How I cut the Favoured Flowers Designer Series Paper for my two flap fancy fold card

I then cut the following pieces of Favoured Flowers Designer Series Paper. One 13.8cm x 9.5cm piece for the inside of the card. One 6.5cm x 9.5cm piece for the flap on the left hand side. I cut these using the same side of the DSP. Finally I cut a 7cm x 11.5cm piece of a coordinating side of the DSP. Once these had been cut I stuck them onto the Calypso Coral mat layers.

I then cut out one of the large flowers from one of the sides of the DSP and stuck it onto the left hand side of the inside. Next I cut a 6cm x 7.5cm piece of Basic White card stock to go on the right hand side of the card.

How I finished off my two flap fancy fold card

For my sentiments I chose the smaller sentiments from teh Go To Greetings stamp set. First I stamped the sentiment for the front onto a scrap of Basic White card stock using Calypso Coral ink. I mat layered the sentiment on the front using a scrap of Calypso Coral card stock. Next I stamped a sentiment in the inside using Calypso Coral ink.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my two flap fancy fold card. I was surprised how quick it was to actually make so I will be making more of this fancy fold card. Why don’t you have a go and please do share what you make on my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
