Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.
This month’s theme is: Thanks
For this blog hop I thought I would show you a couple of stamped background Thank You card that I made by stamping my own background. As you will have seen from my previous blogs that I do like to stamp my own backgrounds. This means that I do not have to use any papers plus I am getting more out of my stamp set.
How to make my first Stamped Background Thank You card.
First of all I cut a portrait Basic White Thick card base. I then cut a mat layer using Lemon Lime Twist card stock. Next I used the leaf stamp from the Friends for Life stamp set and Lemon Lime Twist ink to stamp leaves all over the mat layer. I then used Black Memento ink to stamp the sentiment and the two hearts.
Next I stuck this mat layer onto the card front. I then die cut out the word friends using Basic White card stock and Lemon Lime card stock using the Friends for Life dies.
I stuck these onto the card front and finished the card by adding some Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels to embellish it.
How to make my second Stamped Background Thank You card.
For my second stamped background Thank You card I again cut a Basic White Thick portrait card base. I decided to use the Basic White Thick card stock for my next mat layer as I will be using water on it. (You could of course use Water colouring paper).
I stamped the splodge image again from the Friends for Life stamp set and randomly stamped it over the Basic White mat layer using Shy Shamrock ink, Lemon Lime Twist ink, Granny Apple Green ink and Garden Green ink. I then spritzed the back of the mat layer with water and laid it down before spritzing the front of the mat layer. This makes the ink of the stamped splodges run. I put this to one side to dry.
Once it was dry I I cut a Shy Shamrock mat layer and stuck it to the card front. I stamped the sentiment again using Black Memento ink and added another die cut ‘friend’ to the card front. Again I used Basic White card stock but this time I used Shy Shamrock card stock. I finally embellished the card front using some Iridescent Foil Gems.
I do hope you have enjoyed reading how I made these two stamped background Thank You cards. If you want to follow along as I make them here is the link to my YouTube video.
