Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is: Festive Memories.

Christmas is one occasion when you can make a scrapbook layout to remember all your festive memories. As I was also set the task of using the Black & White & Gold Bakers Twine I decided to use it to ‘hang’ Baubles from the top of the layout.

How I made my Festive Memories Scrapbook Layout.

Photograph of finished Festive Memories Scrapbook Layout.

First I took a 12″x12″ sheet of Basic Black card stock. Next I chose the tree design Designer Series Paper from the Modern Christmas Speciality Designer Series papers. Using the 2″ and the 2 3/8″ Circle Punches I punched out a bunch of trees.

Next I cut my Black & White & Gold Bakers Twine to length so that the large circles were nearer the top of my layout and the smaller ones hanging beneath them. I then decided that as the circles looked a bit stark on the Basic Black page I added some dashes around each one using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Then I added the Bakers Twine to the backs of each circle using Mini Glue Dots and added the other end at the top of the scrapbook layout. Next I stuck the circles onto my scrapbook layout using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

As I wanted to cover the Bakers Twine ends and glue dots at the top of my layout I cut a strip of the black wavy line Speciality Designer Series Papers (as I thought they looked like the bottom of a Christmas tree. I placed it at the top of my layout but it did not look right so I cut a wobbly line following the printed line and it looked so much better.

How I finished off my Festive Memories Scrapbook Layout.

First I die cut out my journaling layer. To do this I used the Just A Note dies as I love the ‘torn out’ page look. I do my journaling once I decide which of my festive memories photographs I want to use. Next I cut out a Basic White card stock mat layer for my photograph. I can still add some Basic White card stock flaps or Flip Flaps once I know how many photographs I want to use. I then stuck the photograph mat layer and the journaling layer onto the scrapbook layout.

Finally to finish off my Festive Memories scrapbook layout I knotted short lengths of the Bakers Twine just above each bauble.

I really enjoyed making my Festive Memories scrapbook layout and I hope that you will have a go at making one as well. Please do share your makes onto my Facebook page.
