Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

This Month’s Theme is Birthdays

For my project this month I wanted to use the Oceanfront stamp set to make a simple stamping birthday card which I could make in a short time. I started by scoring a sheet of A4 Basic White card stock in half along the short edge. Next I cut the card stock at 14.85cm along the long edge and made 2 card bases. One I put away for another day.

Next I cut four 9cm x 13.3cm pieces of Basic White card stock for mat layers. I put three pieces to one side for another day. Next I used Balmy Blue ink to stamp the sky in the top third of the mat layer and Pool Party ink for the sea just below the sky. I then stamped the beach using Gray Granite ink.

Next I stamped the grasses using Basic Gray ink.

As the sky looked a bit plain I stamped the birds from the retired Sail Away stamp set using Basic Gray ink. I used the same Basic Gray ink to stamp the sentiment.

Finishing off the Simple Stamping Birthday Card.

To finish off the card first I cut a 10cm x 14.3cm mat layer using Balmy Blue card stock and then a 9.5cm x 13.8cm mat layer using Night of Navy card stock.

I stuck the stamped mat layer onto the Balmy Blue mat layer. Then I stuck the Night of Navy mat layer onto the Balmy Blue mat layer before adding it to the card base.

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing my Simple Stamping Birthday Card using the Oceanfront stamp set. I love how by using one stamp set you can make a lovely scene on a card.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
