Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: Anything Goes!
The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Sharon Dalton.
Those of you who follow me regularly know that each month I design a scrapbook layout sketch so I thought I would use my August 2024 Sketch to make a simple scrapbook layout. I decided to use the Flowers and Frames Designer Series Papers as most of the images are pre-cut so are ideal for a beginner scrapbook maker or if you want a quick scrapbook layout.
How to make my simple scrapbook layout using a sketch
First I took a piece of Basic White 12×12 car stock and using the dot stamp from the Layering Leaves stamp set I stamped dots all over the card stock using Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon ink. Then I cut a piece of Lost Lagoon card stock into a square for my centre layer.
I then cut the mat layers. The first mat layer is made using Soft Sea Foam card stock and the second mat layer using Petal Pink card stock. My third layer (top layer) is made using Basic White card stock.
I did the same again for the Title and Journaling mat layers before sticking all of the mat layers in place onto the layout.
How to embellish my simple scrapbook layout
First I stamped the flower buds using Petal Pink ink and stamped them onto Petal Pink card stock. I love this technique as you get a slightly darker shade on your card stock. Next I punched them our using the Bough Punch.
I then stamped some leaves using Soft Sea Foam ink onto Soft Sea Foam card stock before punching out again using the Bough Punch.
Next I chose which pre-cut leaves and flowers I was going to use from the Flowers and Frames designer series paper. To stop the remaining pieces getting lost I store them in one of the empty Stamp Cases. I then stick these on opposite corners as per the sketch. I added the flowers using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
I do hope you have enjoyed seeing how I use a scrapbook layout sketch to make a simple scrapbook layout. Why not have a go yourself and remember you can use any colour and designer series papers you have in your stash.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
