I just love this month’s theme of making an alternative Scrapbook Layout using one of our Scrapbooking Workshop Kits. For my alternative scrapbook workshop layout I decided to use the Celebrate Together Scrapbooking Workshop Kit as this year to celebrate our big birthday’s we went on a cruise and drunk a few mocktails. Also I decided to use one of my own scrapbook sketches.

Here is the Sketch I used to make my Alternative Scrapbook Workshop Layout

Scrapbook Layout Sketch that I used for my Alternative Scrapbook Workshop Layout.

How I made my Alternative Scrapbook Workshop Layout – Page 1

First I chose to turn my scrapbook layout sketch 90 degrees so that the Title was at the top of the page. I then chose to use a 12″x12″ sheet of White Willow card stock. I then used the lighter side of the Fresh Freesia Two-Tone card stock for my title background. I then cut a strip of the dotty patterned Designer Series Paper to go underneath it. Next I cut a strip of the Fresh Freesia flowers Designer Series Papers for the right-hand side of my alternative scrapbook layout.

I then cut out my photo mats. I cut two using Strawberry Slush card stock and one using Fresh Freesia card stock. I then cut another mat layer using Fresh Freesia card stock for my journaling.

I laid out my pieces onto my scrapbook layout and decided that I needed something on the left over white area so I used the Elements of Text to stamp some words and paint splashes (drink splashes) using Fresh Freesia ink.

Once I was happy with my stamping I stuck all of the layers onto the layout base before adding the photo mat layers and the journaling mat layer.

Finally I added the Title and the cocktail glasses. I raised up the cocktail glasses using some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the 2nd page of my alternative scrapbook workshop layout I decided to turn my sketch 180 degrees so that the Title was at the bottom of the page. Again I used a 12″x12″ sheet of White Willow card stock and cut the same Designer Series Paper strips using the same Designer Series Paper.

For my photo mat layers and my journaling mat layer I reversed the colours.

Again I used the Elements of Text to stamp some words and paint splashes in the same colour as my 1st layout.

I arranged my photo mat layers and journaling mat layer slightly different that my 1st layout and again added the Title to the Fresh Freesia Two-Tone strip and the cocktail glasses each side of it.
