Welcome to the SF 2019 April Blog Hop.

This month’s theme is Mother’s Day. The UK had their Mother’s Day back in March and the rest of the world will be celebrating it in May.

In the UK Mothering Sunday is always the fourth Sunday of Lent. It is a day where children give their mother’s presents, flowers and a hand made card.

Here is what I have made – a covered notebook and card.

I started by looking for some ideas on Pinterest and came across a layout where there were three strips of embossed card stock which was designed by Gail Ellis from Blue Rose Paper Treasurers. I liked the look of the card so CASEd the basic layout but used different embossing folders and card stock.

First I cut 3 x 3cm strips of Whisper White card stock and embossed each one using different embossing folders. These strips were then stuck onto a Calypso Coral mat layer and White Bakers Twine was tied around the card layers and stuck onto a Whisper White card base.

Next I stamped some of the flower stamps from the First Frost Stamp set using Calypso Coral ink and then die cut using the Frosted Bouquet Framelits dies. . I love how these distinktive stamps produce a layered image. I then stamped a flower image using Pear Pizzazz ink and die cut a leaf stem. Finally using the Leaf Punch I punched some leaves out of vellum.

These were then stuck onto the card as shown above.

Next I repeated what I had done for the card to make the front cover of a plain lined pad. This time I added more flowers and leaves to make it look slightly different.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects for Mother’s Day. Please do leave comments as you hop around this blog hop.
