Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: Geometric Shapes.

The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Mai Lavidalie.

When I saw the theme to make a Scrapbook Layout using Geometric Shapes I immediately wanted to use the hexagons from the Beautiful Shapes dies. I also had a photograph of bees nesting in a post box a few years ago so I thought I would use the hexagons to make the honey comb.
How I made my Scrapbook Layout using Geometric Shapes

I started with a piece of 12″ x 12″ Poppy Parade card stock as this was the nearest red to the colour of our Post Boxes in the UK. Next I die cut the different sized hexagons using the hexagon dies from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and Daffodil Delight card stock. I then stuck these hexagons onto the Poppy Parade card stock to look like honey combs. Next I stamped the outline of the Title using the outline image from the Alphabest stamp set using Black memento ink. Then I stamped the letters to make the word BEES using Daffodil Delight ink. Next I punched out the letters using the Best Label Punch. I then added these to one of the large hexagons using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then stamped a couple of the flower images around these letters.
Next I did some journaling on another large hexagon and again stamped some more of the flower images. I then cut a Basic Black mat layer for the photograph and stuck it onto the layout before sticking down the Title and journaling.
How I finished off my Scrapbook Layout using Geometric Shapes

To finish off my Scrapbook layout using geometric shapes I added some more stamped flower images to some of the hexagons to balance the layout and some Basic Black die cut bees using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets Dies.
I really enjoyed doing this layout and I hope that it has inspired you to have a go yourself. Please do post your layouts onto my Facebook page.
