Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop
The theme this month is to make a Scrapbook Layout using a Tic Tac Toe
The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Sherry Roth.
When I saw that this months theme was a Scrapbook Layout using a Tic Tac Toe I could not wait to see what our choices would be. If you have never used a Tic Tac Toe before on a scrapbook layout it is really easy. You just choose 3 things which make a line so you can go across, up and down and even diagonally. I chose to go diagonally from the top left hand corner and use a sketch that I had designed, 3 photographs and a stamp set I have not used yet.
The sketch I used for my Tic Tac Toe Scrapbook Layout
I have just started to do a Saturday Saturday Scrapbook Challenge on my Business Facebook Page
- On the first Saturday of each month I post a scrapbook layout sketch.
- On the second Saturday of each month I then share the scrapbook layout I designed using the sketch
- On the third Saturday of each month I then show how I have used the sketch to make a simple 6″x6″ card.
- and finally on the fourth Saturday of each month I make a more advanced 6″x6″ card.
So what better than to use my scrapbook layout sketch for August and use the Tic Tac Toe to make my Scrapbook Layout.
The three photographs I chose
As I am still scrapbooking my daughter’s childhood I chose to use the photos taken when she was a bridesmaid at her Aunt’s wedding when she was 14 months old and her brother was a page boy. The wedding was in March 1993 and it was a very cold day so we had to make sure that they were well wrapped up between having the photographs taken.
The stamp set I have not used
I chose the Happiness Abounds stamp set as I had not had time to actually use it.
How I made my Scrapbook Layout using Tic Tac Toe
I started by laying out the photographs onto a 12×12 piece of Basic White card Stock. Next I stamped the Congratulations and Best Wishes sentiments along the top and bottom edges using Cajun Craze ink. I had left enough space between the two photos to stamp the Congratulations.
Next I stamped three of the large flowers using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured them in using the Cajun Craze Blends. Once I was happy with the colouring I fussy cut them out though I could have used the dies to die cut them out. Finally I then stuck the photographs onto the scrapbook layout and added the flowers.
I am really please how this layout turned out and I have another finished layout for her album. I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I used Tic Tac Toe to make a scrapbook layout. Why not have a go and share your finished layout on my Facebook page.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
