Today I am going to show you how I used this month’s scrapbook sketch to make a scrapbook layout.
Scrapbook Layout Sketch for March 2024
I thought I would share my Scrapbook Layout Sketch for March 2024.
Each month I have a Scrapbook Layout sketch and then I use it as follows each month:
- on the first Saturday of each month I post the scrapbook layout sketch onto my Facebook Page.
- on the second Saturday of each month I share the scrapbook layout I designed using the sketch.
- on the third Saturday of each month I then show you how I have used the same sketch to make a simple 6″x6″ card.
- and finally on the fourth Saturday of each month I will show you how I made a more advanced 6″x6″ card using that same sketch.
Digger Scrapbook Layout – March 2024
Here is the scrapbook layout I made using the sketch for March 2024. I chose the photograph of my grandson just after his 1st Birthday. He is into tractors and diggers so by using the Construction Zone stamp set I was able to make this layout.
How I made the scrapbook layout.
Firstly I chose a 12×12 sheet of Basic White card stock. Next I cut out 10 Basic Black square mat layers. I then cut out 9 Daffodil Delight square mat layers. I then took 3 of these mat layers and embossed them using the Stone 3D embossing folder. Next I took another 3 and embossed them using the Hammered embossing folder. Finally with the remaining 3 squares I cut some squares using Chicken Wire elements.
I then stamped out 3 fork lift trucks, 3 cement lorries and 3 cranes. These I coloured in using Daffodil Delight and Basic Black blends. Next I fussy cut them out and stuck them down on to the embossed mat layers. I then cut a Basic Black mat layer and a Daffodil Delight mat layer to fit the photograph and stuck them together before adding the photograph. Now it was time to lay them out onto the piece of 12×12 Basic White card stock. Once I was happy with how they looked I stuck everything down including the left overt basic Black mat layer in the bottom right hand corner.
How I made the title and journaling area.
Firstly I cut a Basic Black mat layer to fit the space between the top two square elements. Then using the Galvanised Metallic Paper I die cut out the letters using the Mini Alphabet dies and stuck them onto the mat layer. I then stuck the mat layer onto the top of the scrapbook layout and added one of the bolt tops from the Urban Underground Embellishments.
For my journaling I punched out large circle using Daffodil Delight card stock and the 2 3/8″ Circle punch. This I embossed using the Stone 3D embossing folder. I then punched out a smaller circle using a scrap of Basic White card stock and the 2″ Circle punch. Using the lines from the Love This Moment stamp set and Daffodil Delight ink I stamped the lines over the smaller circle so that I could write on them.
I love how this layout turned out and it is a great way to make memories more visible. Why not have a go at making your own layout using my March 2024 sketch.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
