Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop

The theme this month is Holidays!

Last year we know was not a good year for holidays and most of us spent it in lockdowns. So this year I am having a Staycation and spending more time with family, making memories. My husband and I decided to take our 2 year old granddaughter strawberry picking for the first time. So I decided to design a scrapbook layout called a Strawberry Patch Kid ready for when I get the photos printed.

It was a very wet weekend when we decided to go so as well as strawberry picking we had fun splashing in the puddles and squelching in the mud. Our granddaughter spent most of the time tasting the strawberries and sitting down between the strawberry plants.

How to stamp the background for the Strawberry Patch Kid Scrapbook Layout

Finished scrapbook layout - Strawberry Patch Kid

I started off with a sheet of 12×12 Basic White card stock. Next I cut templates to the size of the photos, title and journal box. I stuck them onto the Basic White card stock using low tack adhesive tape.

Next I used Real Red ink to stamp the strawberries from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. Stamping off the ink from the infill stamp onto scrap paper before stamping onto the strawberry outline.

Next I stamped the strawberry tops using Evening Evergreen ink for the outline and Pear Pizzazz ink for the infill stamp.

I then stamped the strawberry stems and flower stamp using Evening Evergreen ink. Next I coloured in the leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink and the flowers using Daffodil Delight and Real Red ink using a Water Painter. I chose Daffodil Delight as my granddaughter had bright yellow boots and a bright yellow waterproof all in one.

I then stamped some strawberry leaves along each side edge using Evening Evergreen ink and Pear Pizzazz ink.

Finishing off the Strawberry Patch Kid layout

Once I was happy with the background I removed the paper templates and replaced them with Crumb Cake cardstock. Next I die cut the title Strawberry Patch Kid using Pear Pizzazz, Real Red and Daffodil Delight card stock and the Playful Alphabet dies. I stuck the die cut letters onto the Title mat layer before sticking down onto the scrapbook layout.

Next I cut a square of Basic White card stock and wrote about the day. I ran out of space and have a few more photos so I will probably repeat this layout and make a double page.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I have made a background for my Strawberry Patch Kid scrapbook layout using a stamp set.
