Scrapbook layout using a sketch
For my blog today I decided to make my scrapbook layout using a sketch. Sometimes I struggle with how I want a scrapbook page to look. By using a sketch it makes it a lot easier to do produce a scrapbook layout..
I needed some closure on my car accident just before Christmas 2019 and what better way than to scrapbook it. I had a rough idea as to what dies I wanted to use and this sketch gave me the ideal layout.
First I decided to use the Garage Gears Dies as my embellishments so I die cut them out using the NEW Standard size Stampin Cut and Emboss machine and Silver Foil paper.
Then I needed to work out what colour card stock and designer series paper to use. Don’t you just love the In Good Taste DSP as its sheets make lovely backgrounds. I chose the rough plaster wall side as it makes the photographs stand out without having to mount them.
Next I chose to use Basic Grey and Smoky Slate as these colours matched the colour of my car and Night of Navy as the contrast colour and to pick up the colour in the DSP.
The sketch enabled me to layer the various coloured card stock to give the layout depth. I then stuck everything down using Tombow adhesive.
To finish the layout I will add some journalling to explain what happened ie hitting a pick up truck at head on at 50 miles an hour and how lucky I was to just hop away with severe bruising and a broken foot.
I hope you like how I have used this sketch for my scrapbook layout. Why don’t you have a go yourself.
