Welcome to this Month’s Tech4stampers Academy Blog Hop
The theme this month is New Beginnings
When I saw the theme New Beginnings I decided that my project would be an Easter Card. Then on Sunday 06/02/2022 I became the proud owner of a little black and white female cat who had been a stray on the streets of Cairo. Therefore my project for New Beginnings had to be a Scrapbook Layout for her.
How to make my New Beginnings Scrapbook Layout
I started with a piece of 12″x12″ Basic White card stock. Overnight I had the idea of using So Saffron card stock to make pyramids. I cut a piece of A4 So Saffron cardstock into an 8″x8″ square and cut it in half diagonally. Next I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to mark horizontal and vertical lines 1/2″ apart to make bricks.
I then used So Saffron ink and a blending brush to smooch the ink across the bottom half of the 12″x12″ Basic White card stock to make the sand and Balmy Blue across the top half. Before I smooched the Balmy Blue I punched out cloud shapes using sticky notes and the Cloud punch.
Once I was happy with the sky and sand I stuck the two pyramids onto the layout. Next I cut two 10.5cm x 15.6cm mat layers for two photos and a longer strip for the journalling. I decided to use two pieces of Basic White for my journalling. One to explain her journey and the other for her details.
How to make the title
For the title I punched out two cats using Basic Black card stock and the Cat punch. Next I die cut Cairo Cats using the Playful Alphabet dies and again Basic Black card stock.
I decided to have the Title at the bottom of the layout with a black cat either side.
To finish off the scrapbook layout I stamped the bird image from the Sailing Home stamp set and Black Memento ink. Now all I need to do is print off some photos of her.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my New Beginnings scrapbook layout and I am sure that you will be seeing more of Flora in my future blogs.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
