Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog logo

Welcome to this month’s Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop.

This month’s theme is Love.

When I saw that this month’s theme was Love and that it could mean any type of love I decided to make a scrapbook layout showing my two cat and how love can help them go from shy, scared cats to lovable cats.

As some of you may know I have two rescue cats who were once street cats in Cairo. They were caught and received treatment before being sponsored at the rescue centre. Once their flights had been funded they flew to the UK on 21/07/2021. They then spent a few months in a cattery in the next village. On 06/02/2022 we chose a 16 month old black and white cat called Frodo who we renamed Flora. As Flora got used to us it became very clear that she saw me as her mummy cat so after a couple of months trying to persuade hubby that I really wanted her flight buddy as well. So we got Femi a white and ginger cat who was 5 years old and who we renamed Milo on 19/06/2022. This also meant that he was rehomed within a year of arriving in the UK.

So you can see why I want to make a scrapbook layout so show that I love my cats.

How I made my Scrapbook Layout – Love my Cats

Photo of finished Scrapbook Layout = Love my Cats

First I took a 12×12 piece of Basic White card stock. I then cut 8 10.5cm x 16.5cm pieces of Basic White card stock and scored at 15.5cm to make 8 flaps (4 for each cat).

Next I cut 2 12cm x 6cm pieces of Basic White card stock. I then scored the 2 ends at 1cm and 11cm and 1 cm along the bottom to make two pockets.

I then laid out the flaps and pockets and once I was happy with them I stuck them down.

Next I die cut out my cats names. I cut FLORA using Basic Black card stock and Milo using Pumpkin Pie and the Alphabet a la Mode dies. This time I did remember to add the adhesive sheet to the back of the card before I cut out the letters. I then stuck the names onto pockets. Next using the Alphabet a la Mode dies I cut out the words LOVE CATS using Basic Black card stock and Pumpkin Pie card stock for the title. This time I alternated the colours. I then laid the title onto the layout and stuck them at the top of the layout. Then I die cut some tags for the pockets using the Tailored Tags dies. I will then add some facts and dates to these tags.

How I finished off my Scrapbook Layout – Love my Cats

Photo shoeing the flaps on the Scrapbook Layout - Love my Cats

For the top flap I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock and another piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. Next I stuck them to the front of the top flap. I will then add the photos under each flap once I have printed them out. I will also add some journaling to the underside of each flap so that it is above the photo.

Next I stamped the cat image from the Love Cats stamp set using Black Memento ink. (See the subtle link to the title and the stamp set). Next I stamped the ‘Head over Hills about You’ in between the words Love Cats so it looks like a dash between them.

I have not yet decided what to add to the top of the first flap but it will probably be a photo of Flora and Milo.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Love my Cats scrapbook layout. Why not have a go at making a scrapbook layout yourself and share it on my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
