Welcome to this month’s Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop
The theme this month is Let’s Strip
When I saw the Scrapbook Layout theme was Let’s Strip my original idea was to use strips of Designer Series Paper but I have done this before. Whilst tidying up my craft desk I found some strips of the 2021-2023 InColor card stock. Some of them were the whole length of an A4 sheet they would fit my 12×12 scrapbook page and some were shorter lengths.
Scrapbook Layout – Let’s Strip Background
I started by laying out the long strips of cardstock and stuck them down ensuring that one end was in line with the edge of the page but letting the other end go where it wanted to. I struggle with random so was pleased with the effect this made.
Next I scattered the shorter strips over the top of the page and stuck them where they laid.
Finding the photos for my Scrapbook Layout – Let’s Strip
Now came the hard part of finding some photographs to add to the page. I rummaged around and came across some photos from a National Scrapbook Day I attended in June 2010. After the shock in seeing how skinny I was 11 years ago I chose 3 for my layout. I stuck them onto my layout at slight angles.
I wanted to do a title saying National Scrapbook Day but could not decide which stamp set to use so I cut the title from the list of instructions for the day instead.
Next I found a Basic White mat layer which was suitable for my journaling. Once I had done my journaling I stuck it onto my layout using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Let’s Strip Scrapbook Layout. It was a great way to use up those scraps of card stock to produce the background. Why not have a go yourself?

How fun is this random placement of scraps, particularly for a scrapbook event page!! Nice job- thanks for sharing,
Great idea to use the printed title from the actual day!! And the strips add so much movement and interest to your page!!
Love the fun way you used your strips for the background! Makes me think of pick up sticks. And, they add just enough visual interest behind your photo story of your scrapbooking day.
Now that’s a fun page filled with colour and a fab way to use up all the pieces of your 2021-2023 InColor card stock! I am sure these photos hold some precious memories for you too.
