Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop
The theme this month is:
The theme for this month’s scrapbook layout has been decided by Julia Quinn. I love making Happy Birthday Scrapbook Layouts as they are lovely to look back on and see how people have changed over the years. I decided to use the Light The Candles Card Kit which has just been released. Sometimes people just make the cards in the kits but it is often nice to think outside of the box hence my Happy Birthday Scrapbook Layout.
First I chose a 12″ x 12″ piece of Basic White card stock. I decided to use the die cut candle and cake pieces to make stencils.
First I took the candle stencil and using a sponge dauber smooched Melon Melody, Calypso Coral and Magenta Madness ink onto the stencil. Then I stamped the star image using Night of Navy ink. I then used the same sponge daubers and inks for the cake stencil.
Next using the Light the Candles and Make a Wish stamp I stamped the sentiment along the bottom of the layout using Night of Navy.
I then used the Happy Happy Birthday stamp and Night of Navy ink to stamp along the top of the layout. Just before the end of the layout I changed the Happy Happy Birthday stamp to Today’s Your Day stamp.
Next I cut two photo mat layers using Coastal Cabana card stock and stuck them onto the layout. I then cut a strip of the same card stock and stuck it to the top of the layout. I will use this for some journaling. Next I cut a smaller piece of card stock for another journaling area and stuck that to the layout. Finally I cut some Basic White card stock to fit my journaling mat layers.
Now I have a Happy Birthday Scrapbook Layout all ready for someone’s birthday this year.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing how you can make a scrapbook layout by using one of our Stampin’ Up! Card Kits.
