Stamp N' Hop August Logo

Welcome to this month’s Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop

The theme this month is ‘It’s all about the Males’

If like me you struggle to think of what to use to make Male Birthday Cards or even just to say thank you then I hope you enjoy seeing what we have all come up with for this theme.

I bought the Suit & Tie dies a while ago with male birthday cards in mind as I had seen so many cards made using these dies.

Photo of the three finished Male Birthday Cards

I started off with 3 card bases using Basic White Thick card stock.

Male Birthday Card 1 – Jumper and Bow Tie

For this card I cut a 10cm x 14.3cm piece of Night of Navy card stock and die cut the V out of it. I then embossed this piece of card stock using the Texture 3D embossing folder. Next I die cut the collar using Night of Navy card stock.

I then stuck the embossed piece of card stock onto the Basic White card base. Next I stuck the collar piece onto the top of the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then die cut some buttons out using Night of Navy card stock and stuck these onto the card base. Finally I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. Before die cutting it out using a Stitched Rectangle die and sticking it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Male Card 2 – Jacket and Jumper

For this card I again cut a 10cm x 14.3cm piece of Night of Navy card stock and die cut a V out of it. Next I cut a piece of In Good Taste DSP as I thought this pattern looked like a knitted jumper. I stuck this onto the back of the piece of Night of Navy card stock.

I then die cut the jacket lapels out of Night of Navy card stock and stuck them onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next I die cut a collar out of Basic White card stock and stuck it onto the jumper using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then cut a small V shape out of the patterned DSP so that it would not be behind the collar.

I then die cut the small pocket top from Night of Navy card stock. For the white hanky I cut off one of the triangles left over from the piece I die cut the collar out of. I then glued them onto the Jacket.

Again I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. Before die cutting it out using a Stitched Rectangle die and fixing to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Male Card 3 – Tweed Style Jacket

For my third card I used a piece of Tidings of Christmas DSP which I cut into a 10cm x 14.3cm piece. Again I die cut out the V shape before sticking onto the Basic White card base. I then die cut another collar out using Basic White card and stuck to the top of the card.

Next I die cut the pocket out of the V shape DSP. Again for the white hanky I cut off one of the triangles left over from the piece I die cut the collar out of. I then stuck the hanky and pocket onto the Jacket.

To finish off the card I used Pearls for the buttons and used a sentiment from my stash which I already had by using the Many Messages stamp and message dies.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my three Male Birthday Cards and that you will go away and have a go yourself. I will be having a go at some other cards using the Suit & Tie dies especially as one of the sheets of Tidings of Christmas DSP looks like a dress my mum used to have and wear at Christmas.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting.
