Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is a Sketch Challenge.

I love using a sketch to design a card as it does not matter what stamp set, designer series papers or colours you use. They are also a great way to get inspiration. So here is how I went about making a card using a card sketch.

Making a card using a Card Sketch - Card Sketch

This month I have been using the 2022-2024 In Colors in my projects. Basically as I have not really used them much before and sometimes it is challenging to use colours in a different combination or just to get your mojo back.

How I made my card using a card sketch

First I decided to use one of the blues from the 2022-2024 In Colors. I started by cutting a portrait card base using Tahitian Tide card stock. Next I cut a mat layer using Basic White card stock. I then die cut out a circle using the Stylish Shapes dies. Then using the wave image from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set I stamped the image along the bottom of the Basic White mat layer using Tahitian Tide ink. I then stuck the mat layer onto the card base.

Next I die cut a circle using the Beautiful Shapes die and Basic White card stock. I then stamped the sentiment onto it using Tahitian Tide ink before sticking it on to the middle of the die cut out circle so that there was a very small coloured border showing.

Next I die cut two circles using Tahitian Tide card stock and the Stylish Shapes dies. I then stamped the bird image onto Basic White card stock using Basic Gray before die cutting it out using the small circle die from Stylish Shapes.

Next I stuck the circles onto the card as per the card sketch.

Finally I added some of the 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decretive Dots underneath the sentiment.

I was pleased with how the card turned out so I decided to make another two. One using Orchid Oasis card stock and ink and the other using Starry Sky card and ink. Which one is your favourite?

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
