Stamp 'n Hop Theme image

Welcome to this month’s Stanp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

The theme this month is Spring/Autumn

When I saw this month’s theme I had just come back from visiting a garden centre and I remembered that its harvest time and one of the plants in flower are the Rudbeckia (Coneflower). They come in a variety of yellows, oranges and reds and always remind me that its harvest time and soon the days will be getting shorter and winter will be here.

How I made my Its Harvest Time card

Photo of finished Its Harvest Time card

I started by stamping the large flower from Nature’s Harvest stamp set onto Basic White card stock using Memento ink. Next I die cut a mask using the matching die and Masking Paper. It was my first attempt at Masking Paper and of course I die cut the wrong side so I have to do it again on the correct side. I then stuck the Masking Paper over the stamped image.

Next I made the background by smooching Balmy Blue and Pacific Point ink across the top and I then gradually moved down to use So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green/Pear Pizzazz to make a Fen sky. Living on the outskirts of the Fens I get to see the most amazing skies are you can see for miles and miles.

Once I was happy with the smooched background I started colouring in the stamped image. I used Cajun Craze Blends for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaves and stems. I am really happy with how it turned out.

How I finished off my Its Harvest card

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Ringed with Nature stamp set using Cajun Craze ink onto Basic White card stock. I then stuck this onto Basic Black card stock before sticking to the card. I chose not to use Stampin’ Dimensionals as I will be posting the card.

To finish off my card I stuck the staon some Classic Matt Dots.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out and I was really pleased that I used a colour, Cajun Craze, that I do not normally use. Why not have a go at making blended backgrounds and of course please share them on my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
