Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is Colour Challenge.

Image of the three Colour Challenge Colours. Which are Berry Burst, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.

This month I am going to show you how to use up your scraps of paper to make a card using the three colours in this Colour Challenge. If like me you have loads and loads of 12×12 or 6×6 papers sitting there waiting to be used. Well this is a quick and easy to make a bunch of cards.

How to use up your scraps of paper to make a card

Photograph of the finished card showing you how to use up scraps of paper using these three colours Berry Burst, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock.

First I cut a landscape card base using Basic White Thick card stock. Next I cut a mat layer using Pretty Peacock card stock. Next I cut out a smaller mat layer using Basic White card stock.

Now for the fun part. Gather up your paper scraps and lay them on top of the Basic White mat layer. You can have any thickness but I cut mine into 2cm and 1.5cm strips. Next run a layer of Seal tape runner along the top and bottom of the Basic White mat layer and stick your strips down. They will over hang the edges so you can trim these once you are happy with how they look. Once you are happy with your strip mat layer stick it onto the card front.

How to finish the card using up your scraps of paper

To finish off my card I stamped a sentiment from the Perennial Postage stamp set on to a scrap of Basic White card stock using Pretty Peacock ink. I then die cut it out and at the same time I die cut out a larger rectangle out of Pretty Peacock card stock. Finally I added three Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems..

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how to use up your scraps of paper to make a card. You can use this technique to make scrapbook layouts as well.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
