Welcome to this month’s Tech4Stamper Blog Hop
This month’s theme is Summer Fun
I am please to be able to show you how to make a Summer picture. I saw a very similar project on one of the Facebook Groups I am part of. Unfortunately the photo was not watermarked so I cannot give credit to the person who thought of this wonderful idea.
I started by cutting a piece of Basic White card stock to fit the frame. Next I cut another piece of Basic White card stock for the image.
How to make the background for your Summer picture
Next I marked roughly 1/2 way down with a pencil so I would know where the horizon was. I then used a piece of photocopy paper to cover the bottom so it I went over the pencil line it would not show.
Next I used the blending brushes and So Saffron and Daffodil Delight ink pads to smooch ink across the top half of the paper. I then die cut a circle out of scrap card to use as a template of the sun. Next I smooched some Calypso Coral, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie ink just outside of the circle template before removing the circle template and smooching just over the edge of the circle. Finally I smooched Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape ink over the top two corners blending in as I smooched.
For the sea I smooched Balmy Blue, Pool Party and Pacific Point ink over the bottom half of the card stock. Once I was happy with the blended ink I used Black Memento to stamp the shadow of the boat, the birds and the sentiment from the Let’s Sail Away stamp set.

Finally I punched out the boat silhouette using the Boat punch before sticking the whole blended cardstock onto the Basic White mat layer and adding to the box frame.
This is an ideal project for the home, a present or to sell at a craft fair.
I hope by seeing my finished Summer picture that you will give the blending technique a go. Please do share your finished project onto my Facebook page. Remember to wash out your used blending brushes after use.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
