Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.
The theme this month is Events.
This month I am showing you how I made this simple Halloween stepper card. I do not usually make Halloween cards but when I saw the Them Bones Collection in the September to December mini catalogue it reminded me of the Funny Bones children’s books by Allan and Janet Ahlberg.
How I made the simple stepper card.
First I started by cutting a 21cm x 14.9cm piece of Basic White card stock. I scored this piece of card stock by putting the longer side at the top of the paper trimmer and scoring at 3cm, 6.5cm, 13cm. I then folder the card and burnished the edges using a bone folder. Next I cut a 21cm x 7.5cm and scored along the long edge at 10.5cm.
I then cut the same designer series paper into the following sizes for the card base: 14cm x 2.5cm; 14cm x 6.5cm and another piece at 6.5cm x 9.8cm for the front of the card.
Next I stuck these pieces of designer series paper onto my Basic White card stock. I then stuck the card flap onto the card base making sure that I only put glue on each end. I found I had to wiggle it slightly to ensure that it folded correctly. Next I fussy cut out the skeleton and skeleton cat from the designer series paper.
How to make the sentiment for the simple stepper card and finishing it off.
For the sentiment I cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and embossed ‘Happy Halloween’ onto it using White embossing powder and the ‘Happy Halloween’ sentiment. I then cut a 6cm x 3.5cm piece of Basic Gray card stock to make a mat layer for the sentiment. I decided to stick the sentiment onto the mat layer at an angle.
Next I stuck the cut out skeleton onto the left hand side of the card front. I then added the sentiment and then stuck the skeleton cat sitting on top of the sentiment.
Finally I added some of the Glow in the Dark bats above the skeletons and a ghost on the sentiment. I also added some die cut Basic Black bats, although you could add more Glow in the Dark bats and ghosts instead.
I have enjoyed using the Them Bones Suite and it is one I will be keeping once it retires at the end of this month.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
