Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is: Just A Note.

This month’s theme is Just A Note so I thought I would make a showing you care floral card to send to my friends who are having a few bad days. I have just received an order from Stampin’ Up! where I had ordered the Mixed Floral bundle and the Spring Corners stamp set so I decided to have a play around with them to see if I could come up with a suitable showing you care floral card. Here is one of the cards I came up with.

How I made my Showing You Card Floral Card

Photograph of my finished Showing You Care Floral Card

First I cut and scored a portrait card base using Basic White Thick card stock. I then cut a mat layer using Smoky Slate card stock. I then cut another smaller mat layer for my stamped layer using Basic White card stock.

I stamped the sentiment ‘always in your corner’ onto the top right hand side of the card front using Black Memento ink. Next I stamped the larger of the two flower stamps onto the card front again using Black Memento ink

How to colour in the flower image on my Showing You Care Floral Card

Photograph showing the coloured flowers on my Showing You Care Floral Card

First I coloured in the leaves using a mixture of Lemon Lime Twist Dark and Light Blends going over some parts of the leaves again to build up layers.

Next I coloured in the small flowers using Balmy Blue Dark Blend for the flower centre and the Balmy Blue Light Blend for the rest of the flower. I also drew a line on these flower stems using Lemon Lime Twist Dark Blend

I then coloured in the ‘crocus’ flowers using Fresh Freesia Dark and Light Blends. Again I coloured in the flower stems using Lemon Lime Twist Dark Blend.

Once I was happy with my colouring I stuck the stamped mat layer onto the Smoky Slate mat layer before sticking to the Basic White card base.

To finish off my showing you care floral card I added six Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I am really please with how my showing someone you care floral card turned out and I am going to try different colour flowers and see how they turn out. This card was so simple to do.

I do hope you have enjoyed seeing how I made my showing you car floral card and why not have a go yourself. I would love to see how they turn out so please do share them onto my Facebook page.
