Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: Use Your Scraps.
The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Elaine Wheeler Wright.
Have you ever thought of making a scrapbook layout using up your scraps? I do know that most of us have left over scraps of card stock and designer series papers. I keep my long scraps of card stock in a Tigger mug on my craft desk so this month’s theme was right up my street. (I always knew they would come in handy).
How to make a scrapbook layout using up your scraps
First I sorted out my card stock scraps into colours then I chose four colours that went well with each other. I then took a 12″x12″ sheet of Crumb Cake for my layout. Next I laid the strips on top of the Crumb Cake card stock, changing them around until I was happy with them. Once I was happy with how they looked I stuck them down. I chose to have the Daffodil Delight and Real Red strips touching one of the edges and the Basic Gray and Basic Black strips touching the opposite edge. I did not bother with cutting any of the strips down as I wanted it to look random.
How to add photographs and journaling to your scrapbook layout
First I decided to turn my scrapbook layout on its side so the strips were horizontal. Next I chose three photographs of my rescue cat Milo as he is such a handsome cat. I mounted each photograph onto a Very Vanilla card stock mat layer. Next I laid them on top of my scrapbook layout and moved them around until I was happy with where they were placed. Once I was happy I stuck them down onto my scrapbook layout. Yes I did choose to have them at an angle. I then wrote on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock before stamping the words and paw print before sticking it down onto my scrapbook layout. Both the words and paw print are from the By Your Side Kit.
I am so pleased with how this scrapbook layout turned out and it is such a great way to use up those scraps. Why not have a go at making your own scrapbook layout using your scraps. I would love to see what you make. Please do share them on my Facebook page.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
