Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop Title

Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.

The theme this month is: Mode of Travel.

The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Sharon Dalton.

Sharon chose this month’s theme as she saw loads of different modes of transport as she has been travelling in Western Australia. So I decided to start preparing some scrapbook layouts for my forth coming cruise in 2025 rather than doing them afterwards. I decided to make a scrapbook layout using embossing folders and punches. As I had seen the Cheery Patterns embossing folder used for waves on a card I decided to copy that idea and of course a cruise would not be without some boats to see it off. I also wanted to use the nautical stamps from the Your Are My Anchor Card Kit from the Kits Collection.

How I made my Cruise Scrapbook Layout using embossing folders and punches.

I started with a 12″x12″ piece of Basic White card stock. Next I cut two strips of Balmy Blue card stock and embossed them using the Cherry Patterns embossing folder. (I did not want to waste whole 12″x12″ piece of card stock so I used A4 instead). Next I stuck these two strips along the bottom of the scrapbook layout. I then stamped the anchor from the You Are My Anchor Card Kit onto a piece of Basic White card stock using Basic Gray ink. Next I die cut it out using a circle from the Stylish Shapes. I then die cut another circle out of Poppy Parade card stock and the larger circle from Stylish Shapes. Next I stuck the two circles on top of each other and stuck them onto the ‘join’ using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

How I made the sailing boats for my Cruise Scrapbook Layout.

Using the Sailboat Builder punch I punched out the boats using Basic Gray card stock and Poppy Parade card stock. I used the Poppy Parade sails and the Basic Gray boats to make each sail boat. Then I stuck them on top of the ‘waves’.

How I made the flag banner for my Cruise Scrapbook Layout.

I started by die cutting small flags in Poppy Parade and Misty Moonlight card stock using the Nested Essentials dies. I then stamped the letters to make the word ‘Just Cruising’ onto Basic White card stock using Basic Gray ink. Next I punched the letters out using the Best Label punch. Next I took a length of white bakers twine and stuck it to the top two corners using a glue dot. I then stuck the letters onto each ‘flag’ using a Stampin’ Dimensional and then stuck the flag along the bakers twine.

How I finished my Cruise Scrapbook Layout

To finish off my scrapbook layout I cut 2 mat layers for photographs and stamped the sentiment Adventure Awaits in Misty Moonlight ink just under the flags. I will add journaling once I know which photographs I will use.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how easy it was to make my scrapbook layout using embossing folders and punches. Please have a go yourself and post your makes onto my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
