How I made my Scrapbook Layout using a Sketch.
First I needed to decide which way round I was going to use the sketch to make my Scrapbook layout. With a sketch if you turn it around you have 4 different options. Once I had decided which way I wanted it (mainly as I had portrait photos) I started to design the different elements.
Next I started by stamping the dots in a random pattern onto the piece of 12×12 Basic White card stock using the dots stamp for the Layering Leaves stamp set and Lemon Lime Twist ink.
I then stuck a strip of Misty Moonlight card stock along the middle of the layout. Next using some Night of Navy strips left over from my previous Scrapbook Layout so used them to make Faux stitching along it. To do this I used the new pick tip for the Take your Pick Tool to prick holes along both edges. I alternated the holes so that I could make a zig-zag pattern. Next I used a white gel pen to make stitches between each hole. Once I was happy with it I stuck it onto the layout.
Next I trimmed my photos so that they would fit the layout and mounted them onto Lost Lagoon card stock. I then trimmed a piece of the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper so that it had a tab that would fit over the bottom photograph. For my journaling I cut down one of the Bright & Beautiful Memories & More cards which I then stuck onto my piece of DSP.
Next I punched out some semi circles using the circle punch and stuck them onto the bottom of the middle banner. I then punched some more circles. The large one I punched out using the 2 3/8″ circle punch and the middle one using the 2″ punch. I then punched the smaller circle out of Basic White card and the 1 3/4″ punch. I then stamped ‘You’re TOO Wonderful’ from the Zany Zoo stamp set using Lost Lagoon ink. Finally I layered them up and added to them to the middle banner using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
How I made the Title for my Scrapbook Layout using a sketch.
For my title I decided to use the Casual Letters from the Online Exclusives as we do not have a letter stamp set and they make great titles. I decided to stamp my grandson’s name which I did using Lost Lagoon ink stamped onto Basic White card stock. I then mounted the title onto Lost Lagoon card stock before sticking onto the layout.
How I finished off my Scrapbook Layout using a Sketch.
To finish off my scrapbook layout I used some scraps of Lost Lagoon card stock and added two of the stickers from the Memories & More pack. I then stuck them between the title and the top photograph. Finally I added some of the star stickers from the Memories & More pack onto the layout.
I do hope you have enjoyed seeing my Scrapbook Layout using the sketch Sharni has chosen. Why not have a go yourself at making a scrapbook layout using this sketch.
