Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.
This month’s theme is: Designer Series Paper.
This month I decided to make a generic greetings card for any occasion using just Designer Series Paper and card stock. I can then add a sentiment to the inside of the card when I decide what event I will use it for. I love the designer series papers from Stampin’ Up! as you can either die cut out some of the images and if you fussy cut them out you do not need to purchase the dies. As part of my Annual Catalogue Paper Share I was able to get all of the designer series papers so for this project I chose the Mediterranean Blooms designer series paper.
How I made my generic greeting card for any occasion
First of all I chose the image of three oranges and fussy cut it out using Paper Snips. I cut the very small pieces of white out using the Take Your Pick Tool and the Blade attachment from the Take Your Pick Crafter Tips. Next I die cut one of the blue patterned papers from the Mediterranean Blooms designer series paper using one of the larger circle dies from the Spotlight In Nature Dies.
I then cut a piece of Night of Navy card stock to make a landscape A6 card base. Next I cut another piece of Designer Series Paper into a strip and I cut a piece of Lemon Lolly card stock as the background. Both pieces were cut to the length of card base.
As I was layering it up I thought the Lemon Lolly was a bit too plain so I embossed it using the hatched embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. This added a subtle texture to the card.
I then stuck the Lemon Lolly mat layer and the strip of Designer Series Paper onto the card base. Next I stuck the cut out image onto the designer series paper circle before adding it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals to add a bit of depth to the card.
Finally I cut a mat layer using Basic White card stock and added it to the inside of the card so that I can stamp a sentiment on it when I decide what I am going to use it for.
I am really please in how my generic greeting card for any occasion turned out. It was really simple to do and it shows that you can make cards using just designer series paper which is a great way to use up your stash of designer series papers.
I do hope that you will have a go at making this card and I would love it if you could share what you make on my Facebook page.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
