Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech4Stampers Academy Blog Hop.

The theme this month is Festive.

I thought I would show you how to make a square Christmas card using a coloured outline stamp. I love how many different ways we can colour in an outline image. Today I am showing two options. One using water colour pencils and a Blender Pen and the other using Stampin’ Blends (Alcohol Markers).

For both cards you will need an 10cm x 10cm card base. I used Basic White Thick card for mine. Next you will need a 9.5cm x 9.5xm Real Red mat layer. Finally you will need a 9cm x 9cm Basic White mat layer to stamp your image onto.

First I stamped the cup of cheer image from the Gift of Giving stamp set onto the Basic White mat layer using Black Memento ink. Next using the water colour pencils I coloured in the image. I used the Blue pencil to colour in the mug. Using the Real Red pencil I coloured in the candy cane and berries. I used the Granny Apple Green pencil for the leaves. Next I coloured in the cookie using the Pecan Pie pencil and the Early Espresso pencil. Finally I coloured the shadows onto the marsh mellows using the Basic Gray pencil as I prefer the white marsh mellows. Once I was happy with the colouring I went over with a Blender Pen to make it all look a bit brighter.

Next I stuck the stamped mat layer on top the Real Red may layer before sticking them onto the card base. As I am going to post these cards I have not stuck them using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then coloured some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the Real Red Light Stampin’ Blends.

Again I stamped the cup of cheer image from the Gift of Giving stamp set onto the Basic White mat layer using Black Memento ink. Next using the Stampin’ Blends I coloured in the image. I used Azure Afternoon Blends to colour in the mug. Again using the Real Red Light Blend I coloured in the candy cane and I used both the Real Red Light and Dark Blend for the berries. I used the Granny Apple Green Light and Dark Blends for the leaves. Next I coloured in the cookie using the Crumb Cake Light and Dark Blends. Finally I coloured the shadows onto the marsh mellows using the Smokey Slate Light Blend.

Again I stuck the stamped mat layer on top the Real Red may layer before sticking them onto the card base. I then added three of snowflakes from the Adhesive-backed Snowflake Assortments.

I hope you have loved seeing my two Christmas Cards and how different they look depending on what colouring products you use. Please do have a go at home and please share your makes with me.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
