Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.
This Month’s Theme is Celebration.
For my Celebration project I decided to use up some of the water coloured card stock that I had made from another project and an embossed mat layer for my background.
How to make water coloured card stock.
First I took a piece of Basic White card stock and brushed water all over it. Next I put some Azure Afternoon ink onto a stamping block. Using a wash brush I painted it onto the wet card stock. I then put it to one side to dry. Next I repeated this using Lost Lagoon ink. I love this technique as you get a piece of card stock with varying shades of the ink rather than just all the same colour.
How I made my Celebration card using water coloured card and embossed background.
First I measured my embossed mat layer and then I cut a 10.5cmx10.5cm card base using Basic White card stock. I had embossed the mat layer using the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. I then cut a Basic Gray mat layer and stuck it and the embossed mat layer onto the card base.
Once the water coloured card stock was dry I used the Timeless Arrangement dies to cut out two sets of leaves and flowers and two of the matching leaf and flower dies. I used the Azure Afternoon one for the flowers and the Lost Lagoon for the leaves.
Next I die cut out the large rectangle from the Timeless Arrangement dies. Then I stamped the sentiment using the Very Best Occasion stamp set. I then stuck the die cut leaves and flowers onto the back of the sentiment. Next I stuck the sentiment onto the card front and added the single leaves and flowers to it. Finally I added some Iridescent Pastel Gems to the card front.
I loved how the card turned out and was very quick to do one you have let the water coloured cards tock dry. Why not have a go yourself at making water coloured card stock and share what you have made onto my Facebook Group.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
