Image for Ink, Stamp, Share 2024 Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share Monthly Blog Hop.

The theme this month is: Something New.

I love this time of year as I have new products to play wit as the new mini catalogue and Sale-a-bration products are available. One of my favourite set of products are the Enduring Beauty Bundle and matching masks. The masks come as a set of 5 separate masks but by using them together over the large flower image you get an amazing look. So today I am going to show you how I used the masks and blending brushes to make the card I made to send out to my customers with their new catalogue.

How to make a card using masks and blending brushes.

First I cut a portrait card base using Basic White Thick card stock. Next I cut a mat layer using Basic Gray card stock and embossed it using the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder and stuck it onto my card base.

Now for the fun part.

How to use the masks and blending brushes.

I first I stamped the large flower image from the Enduring Beauty stamp set onto Basic White card stock using Black memento ink. I then stuck this onto my working area using low tack tape so it would not move as I blended.

Next I took the mask (numbered 1) and lined it up on top of the stamped image and stuck that down using the tape. Using Bubble Bath ink I blended the ink over the mask using a blending brush. I found that I did not need as much ink as ink was not soaking into a scrap of paper but stayed on the mask itself. Before I removed the mask I marked my work area where the notch at the top was so that I could match up the rest of the masks.

Next I took the mask (numbered 2) and lined it up on top of the stamped image and the notch and stuck that down using the tape. Using Granny Apple Green ink I blended the ink over the mask using a blending brush.

I then did the same with mask (number 3) using Fresh Freesia ink. Finally I did the same with mask (number 4) but used Old Olive ink. I did place mask (numbered 5) in top if my stamped/blended image but I felt it was not needed.

How I finished off my card

Next I die cut out the stamped image and stuck it onto the card front. I then stamped the sentiment onto Basic White card stock and die cut it out using the sentiment die which I stuck to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I then made a slightly different version to make a birthday card for my mother-in-law. This time I chose to use Lemon Lolly and Calypso Coral inks.

I do hope that you have enjoyed seeing my cards made using masks and blending brushes. In total I made 18 cards in a couple of hours as using the masks was so easy. Now I am going to try different coloured flowers.

Why not have a go at making your own cards using these masks and share your makes onto my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
