Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.

This month’s theme is: Ways with Vellum.

When I saw this month’s theme was Ways with Vellum I though I would show you how to make a card using a piece of coloured embossed piece of vellum. It does look hard to do but really it is quite easy and does make a lovely card once you get the hang of it.

How I coloured in my embossed vellum

Photograph of finished card made using a coloured piece of embossed vellum

First I cut a piece of vellum to 10cm x 14.3cm and embossed it using on of the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder. I ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine very slowly as vellum can be easily cut. (As I found using another 3D embossing folder). Next I turned the vellum over so that the raised side was facing my desk and the indented image was on top.

Using Mossy Meadow Dark Blane, Poppy Parade Dark Blend and Granny Apple Green Dark Blend I coloured in the image. I did go over some colours a few times to make them darker.

How I finished off my coloured embossed vellum card.

Next I cut a landscape card base using Mossy Meadow card stock to tie in with the leaves. I then cut a 14.3cm x 10cm Basic White mat layer

Now for the fun part – sticking the vellum onto the card mat layer. I used glue dots and put one in each corner of the mat layer before sticking the vellum on top. Next I added the Black & White 1/4″ Gingham ribbon along the top and bottom of the mat layer. This hides the glue dots. I then stuck the mat layer onto my card base.

Finally I added tome black Classic Matte dots.

I do hope you have enjoyed finding out how to colour embossed vellum. Why not have a go yourself and share what you make on my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
