Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: Your Favourite Black and White Photograph.
The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Mai Lavidalie..
When I saw that this month’s theme was favourite Black and White photograph I had just received the photos from my son’s wedding in April and there was a wonderful one of my hubby so I decided to make a scrapbook layout called He’s my Hubby.
How I made my He’s my Hubby scrapbook layout
First I started with a 12×12 piece of Basic white card stock. I then decided to use the Zoo Crew 12×12 designer series paper as it has some lovely black and white patterned papers. I cut 5 4cm strips from 5 of the papers. Next I stuck them onto the Basic White card stock. It did take a while to work out the spacing between each strip.
Next I decided to mat layer my photograph and for my first mat layer I used Basic Gray card stock. For my second mat layer I used Basic Black card stock. I then stuck the photograph onto the may layers.
Next I found some playing cards that I got from inside a Christmas cracker. I wanted to use the Joker one as my husband is always joking around trying to make me laugh. I chose the King playing card as he is my king and finally the Ace playing card as he is an Ace person. These I mounted onto Basic Gray before mounting onto Basic Black mat layers.
I decided to do some doodling on the scrapbook layout so using the Basic Gray Write Marker I drew scribble lines down two of the gaps between the strips. Then I drew faux stitching down the side edges.
How I made journaling pull out tab for my He’s my Hubby scrapbook layout
I cut a piece of Basic Gray card stock to fit behind the photograph with a teeny bit sticking out on the left hand side and a larger bit sticking out of the right hand side. Next I stuck the Ace playing card onto the right hand side of the tab. I then cut a smaller piece of Basic White card stock and to write my journaling on. Next using a white gel pen I drew faux stitches along the edge of the Basic White layer and the edge of the tab. Where the pull out bit is I had made a small square so I drew in a heart to fill in the space.
How I made my title for He’s my Hubby scrapbook layout
For my title I due cut out my hubby’s name remembering to add the adhesive sheet before I die cut out the letters using the Alphabet a la Mode dies. I cut the end of the Basic Black strip into a flag end and added it to the scrapbook layout using Stampin’ Dimensions.
How I finished my he’s my Hubby scrapbook layout
Finally I stuck the Joker and King playing cards at the top of my scrapbook layout and added some white Classic Matt Dots to the title and to both hearts.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my He’s my Hubby scrapbook layout. I very rarely do a scrapbook layout using just one photograph but I love this one so much I wanted to spot light it. Why don’t you give it a go at using some black and white photographs on a scrapbook layout and share your layout on to my Facebook page.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
