Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop

The theme this month is ‘Here comes Summer’

Four cards using blending brushes and die cut silhouettes

When I think of the theme ‘Here Comes Summer’ the wonderful skies we have living in the Fens and the the surrounding fields with green and yellow crops spring to mind. I decided to try to capture this by using the blending technique and using silhouettes to make my cards. I decided to use the Garden Wishes stamp set and matching dies as most of the grass verges around me have lots of wild flowers

First I cut four card bases using Basic White Thick card stock. Then I cut four mat layers using Basic Black card stock. Next I cut four mat layers using Basic White card stock.

I then used the blending brushes to smooch Pear Pizzazz ink, Daffodil Delight ink and Balmy Blue ink over each Basic White mat layer. Next I die cut the flowers and leaves using the XXXX dies and Basic Black card stock.

Next I laid the cut out pieces onto the smooched mat layer to decide how I wanted each card to look. Then I stuck them all down using multipurpose glue.

I wanted to add the dandelion seed stamp and the bumble bee stamp from the Garden Wishes stamp set. I used Memento ink to stamp these images onto the cards.

Here Comes Summer – Card 1

Card 1 showing the blending technique and die cut silhouettes with stamped bee.

I added a strip of Basic Black card stock to the bottom edge to hide the bottoms of the leaf die cuts.

Here Comes Summer – Card 2

Card 2 showing the blending technique and die cut silhouettes with stamped bee and dandelion seeds.

Here Comes Summer – Card 3

Card 3 showing the blending technique and die cut silhouettes with stamped bee and dandelion seeds.

Again I stuck a strip of Basic Black card stock along the bottom to hide the base of the die cuts.

Here Comes Summer – Card 4

Card 4 showing the blending technique and die cut silhouettes to make a pattern.

My final card could be used for any occasion and for any gender. I love the pattern the various dandelion heads make on top of the blending mat layer.

Finally I stuck the white mat layers onto the Basic Black mat layers. Then I stuck them onto the Basic White Thick card bases.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my cards for the Here Comes Summer theme and that you will go away wanting to try these techniques yourself.

Thank you for visiting my website today remember to keep stampin n crafting.
