Ink, Stamp, Share Monthly Blog Hop Image

Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share Monthly Blog Hop.

The theme this month is a Colour Challenge.

Photo of Colour Challenge

When I saw the Colours for the Colour Challenge I thought of flowers, however I have been playing around with the Heat Embossing Technique which I have not done for a couple of years so I made a Thinking of You using various Heat Embossed techniques.

How I blended the panels.

First I cut a piece of Basic White card stock and used blending brushes to smooch Granny Apple Green ink, Bubble Bath ink and Lemon Lolly ink over it.

How I made the Heat Embossed Panels.

First I cut a portrait A6 card base using Basic White Thick card stock.

Next I cut a piece of Basic White card stock. Using the Layering Leaves stamp set I stamped the leaf images using Versamark Clear ink. I then added white embossing powder and heated it up using a heat gun until the embossing powder set. I did each type of leaf image separately. Next using blending brushes I added Granny Apple Green ink, Bubble Bath ink and Lemon Lolly ink to the embossed piece of card stock. Once I was happy with the blending I put the piece of card stock to one side.

How I put together my Thinking of You card.

Using a piece of scrap paper I cut out squares and rectangles to fit on to the front of my card. Once I was happy I then cut both the blended piece of card stock and the heat embossed and blended piece of card stock so that they fitted on the front of the card. I then cut out a 6cm x 6cm square and a 5cm x 5cm square using Berry Burst card stock. Next I cut out a 5.5cm x 5.5cm square using Basic White card stock and stuck them on top of each other.

How I heat embossed the flower and sentiment

First I inked up the sentiment stamp from the Layered Leaves stamp set using Versamark Clear ink before adding the Berry Burst ink onto Basic White card stock. Then I stuck the sentiment panel onto the card front.

Next I did the same with the small daisy outline stamp from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and heat embossed both using clear embossing powder. I then die cut out the daisy using the Cheerful Daisies dies. To colour in the flower is used a Blending Pen and Berry Burst ink, Bubble Bath ink and Lemon Lolly ink. Next I stamped a couple of the leaf images from the Layered Leaves stamp set using Granny Apple Green ink onto Granny Apple Green card stock before punching out using the Bough punch. Finally I stuck the leaves to the 5cm x 5cm piece of Berry Burst card stock before adding the die cut daisy using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how this card turned out and of course trying out the different ways that you can heat emboss. I hope that you will give heat embossing a try and please do share what you come up with either on my Facebook page or via email.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
