Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share Showcase Blog Hop
If like me you have many friends and family who have birthdays in December that get swamped by Christmas. I decided to show you a Happy 40th Birthday fancy fold card I made for a friend whose birthday is between Christmas and New Year. I chose to use the Pansy Patch stamp set, Pansy Dies and matching Pansy Petals DSP.
How to make the Happy 40th Birthday Fancy Fold Card
I started off by making cutting a A4 piece of Soft Succulent card stock in half along the short side. I then scored it at 7.4cm and 14.8cm.
Next I cut a 8.5cm x 28cm piece of Soft Succulent card stock. This piece I scored at 10cm and 17.5cm.
I then cut two pieces of DSP, one 7cm x 10cm and the other 9.5cm x 8cm.
Next I cut three pieces of Basic White card stock. One piece 7cm x 8cm, one piece 10cm x 8cm and one piece 14.3cm x 10cm.
I then stuck the Basic White card stock and DSP onto the Soft Succulent card bases. Next I stuck the two card bases together to make a double Z fold card.
On the 10cm x 8cm piece of Basic White card stock I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment using Soft Succulent ink.
How to make the front panel of the Happy 40th Birthday Fancy Fold Card
I then cut a 11.5cm x 7cm piece of Soft Succulent card stock and a 10cm x 6.5cm piece of Basic White card stock for the front panel. Next I used Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen card stock to die cut the leaves and the stem of the pansy bud. I used Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla card stock to die cut out the parts of the pansy.
I used the So Saffron Light Blend to add stripes on the Very Vanilla die cut piece and sponged Calypso Coral ink over the Pale Papaya die cut petals.
Next I stuck all the pieces together and added them to the front panel. I added the large pansy to the front panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I die cut the number 40 out of Silver Foil 12×12 speciality paper and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish off the card.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Happy 40th Birthday Fancy Fold Card, Why not go away and have a go at making one yourself. I would love to see what you have made.

Such a lovely card – I agree those Christmas babies do get swept aside when it comes to birthdays (my maternal grandmother’s birthday was December 25th – we always made sure we made an extra special fuss for her)
Great card, love the pansies xx
Gorgeous card Cheryl, so bright and cheerful x
