Welcome to this month’s Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop
The theme this month is:
This month’s Scrapbook Layout has been decided by Sharni Haines. I started off thinking I would make a scrapbook layout for each of the four seasons but I’ve done that previously so I thought I would do something totally different by putting all four seasons onto one scrapbook layout.
My first idea was split a 12 x 12 Basic White sheet into four sections diagonally but when I found the photos I wanted to use it did not quite work so I decided to split the page into four square sections.
I had already used the photos on a calendar a few years ago and I’ve always wanted to use them again so this is the ideal opportunity.
I started by marking out the four squares and stuck some sticky notes along the pencilled lines so that I could stamp images onto the card stock and make my own backgrounds.
Spring
For the Spring back ground I stamped the small tulip image using the Timeless Tulips stamp set and Daffodil Delight ink. I then stamped the middle tulip image using Calypso Coral ink.
I mounted the photo onto a square of So Saffron card stock and stuck onto the stamped background.
Next I stamped the large tulip image onto Calypso Coral card stock using Calypso Coral ink and punched it out using the Tulip punch. I then repeated this but used the leaf image and Old Olive ink and card stock before punching it out using the same punch. I put these to one side to add later.
Summer
For the Summer background I used the leaf images from the Forever Fern stamp set and stamped the larger image in Pear Pizzazz ink. I thought they looked like weeping willow leaves and I stamped the smaller leaves in Granny Apple Green ink.
I mounted the summer photo onto Granny Apple Green card stock and stuck it onto the Summer background.
Next I stamped one of the dragonfly images from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set onto vellum using Black Memento ink. I put it to one side to dry.
Autumn
For the Autumn background I chose the sycamore seed image from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set and stamped it using Crumb Cake ink.
I mounted the autumn photo onto Crumb Cake card stock and stuck it to the Autumn background.
Next I punched out sprigs using the Sprig punch and Crumb Cake and Old Olive card stock and put them to one side for later.
Winter
For the Winter background I chose to use Snowman Seasons stamp set. I used the snowflake image and used Balmy Blue ink to stamp onto the winter square. I then mounted the photo onto Smoky Slate card stock.
Next I stamped the snowman image onto Basic White card stock and punched it out. I also punched out the hat using Melon Mambo card stock, the arms from Basic Black card stock and the Carrot nose from Calypso Coral card stock.
Finishing off the Four Seasons Scrapbook Layout
To finish off the layout I cut four 6″ x 1/2″ strips of Basic Black cardstock and stuck then on top of the pencilled lines. Next I added the punched embellishments to each season using Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multi Purpose glue..
Thank you for visiting my website today I hope that you have enjoyed seeing how I made my Four Seasons Scrapbook Layout. I loved using up scraps to make the various punched embellishments. Why not have a go yourself.
