Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.

The theme this month is Springtime.

This month I decided to make a Flowering Tulips for a Mother’s Day Card. Springtime is the time where you think of tulips and Mothers Day. Mothering Sunday has always been the 4th Sunday of Lent and historically was a day when children, mainly daughters, who had gone to work as domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mothers and family.

How I made my Flowering Tulip Mother’s Day card.

I started by cutting a portrait card base using Basic White Thick card stock. Next I cut a Highland Heather mat layer and stuck it onto the card base. I then cut a Basic White mat layer and put it to one side. Next I die cut the tulips out of Highland Heather card stock and Gorgeous Grape card stock using the Tulip Dies. I then stuck the pieces together to make each tulip. Next I brushed each tulip with Gorgeous Grape ink and one of the small blending brushes to give some depth. Once I was happy with the tulips I die cut the stems and leaves out of Pear Pizzazz card stock before sticking the them onto the Basic White mat layer. I then added the tulips to each stem and stuck this layer onto the card base.

How I finished off my Flowering Tulip Mother’s Day card.

To finish off my card I stamped the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment onto Basic White card stock using Gorgeous Grape ink. I then stuck this onto a Gorgeous Grape mat layer and added it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I added a bow using the Gingham ribbon and stuck it on using a Glue Dot.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Flowering Tulips Mother’s Day card. I was surprised that this was the first time I had used this stamp set and matching dies I will certainly be using them again.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
