Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop Title

Welcome to this month’s Tech 4 Stampers Academy Blog Hop.

The theme this month is Embossing.

I decided to redo an embossed card that I first made in 2019 but this time make it into a birthday card. To bring it up to date I used three of our current embossing folders and the Cheerful Daisies bundle although you can use any floral stamp set.

How I made my Embossed Birthday Card

I started with a portrait card base using Basic White Thick card stock. I then cut a mat layer using Fresh Freesia card stock. Next I cut 3 3cm strips of Basic White card stock. I then placed each one into a different embossing folder and embossed them. I chose to use the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, the Merry Melody 3d embossing folder and the Raindrops embossing folder. Once I had embossed the three strips I stuck them onto the mat layer. I then cut a length of white bakers twine and wrapped it around the mat layer and tied a bow.

How I decorated the front of my Embossed Birthday Card

I stamped the daisy outline using Black Memento ink. Next I stamped the flower infill using Fresh Freesia ink before finally stamping the flower middle using Lemon Lolly ink. I then die cut it out and put to one side. Next using Granny Apple Green card stock I die cut out the leaves. Next using the Bough punch I punched out the leaves using vellum. To stick the leaves onto the front of the card I used glue dots. I then added the die cut daisy using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

How I finished off my Embossed Birthday Card

Next I stuck the decorated mat layer onto the card base. For the sentiment I chose the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the Days to Remember stamp set. I stamped the sentiment onto Basic White scraps using Fresh Freesia ink and die cut it out using one of the square dies from the Stylish Shapes dies. I then cut the same size square out of Fresh Freesia card stock and stuck both together slightly off centre so that there was part of the Fresh Freesia square showing at one corner. Next I stuck the sentiment onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my updated version of my embossed birthday card. I wonder what it would look like using different colours. Why not have a go yourself and share what you make onto my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
