Welcome to the Ink, Stamp Share September Showcase Blog Hop

For my showcase blog hop this month I wanted to share the Die-cut Male Engagement Card that I made for a couple I met through Scouting and whilst attending their garden party in August they announced their engagement.

Whilst driving home my mind was trying to work out what type of card I wanted to make and then I remembered the cards I made for a recent blog hop where I used the Suit & Tie dies to make Male Birthday cards. As my friends wore various jackets and bow ties during the garden party this idea would be brilliant.

Making the Die-Cut Male Engagement Card

Photo of finished Die-cut Male Engagement Card

I started by scoring a sheet of A4 card stock in half to make an A5 card base.

Next I cut two 10cm x 14.3cm pieces of card stock one using Basic Black card stock and the other using Night if Navy card stock. Next I die cut a v out of each piece and put both piece to one side. I then die cut the jacket lapels, one out of Basic Black card stock and the other out of Night of Navy card stock. Then I stuck the jacket lapels onto each matching jacket using Stampin’ Dimensionals before sticking each jacket side by side onto the A5 card base.

Next I die cut two collars out of Basic White card stock and stuck them onto the A5 card base again using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then came the fun part looking for suitable Designer Series Paper to use for the bow ties. In the end I chose to use the Tidings of Christmas DSP.

Next I die cut two small pocket tops, one from Basic Black and one from Night of Navy card stock. For the hankies I cut a triangle of the same DSP that I used for the bow ties. Then I stuck them onto the right hand side of each jacket.

To finish the card

To finish off the card I stamped the Congratulations sentiment from the Many Messages stamp set onto Basic White card stock using Memento ink. I then die cutting it out using the Messages die. This I fixed on top of the two jackets using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then added a couple of Pearl Basic Jewels to the shirts as buttons.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Die-cut Male Engagement Card. Please go away and have a go yourself. I am sure I will be making other cards using the Suit & Ties dies as they are so versatile.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
