Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop.

This Month’s Theme is: A Colouring Technique.

The theme on my YouTube this month is leaves so for this Blog Hop I decided to show a technique of colouring stamps to make simple greeting cards.

Colouring stamps to make simple greeting cards – Card 1

Photograph of finished card 1 - using the technique of colouring stamps to make simple greetings cards

For my first card I used sponge daubers to add Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green ink to the stamp. It does not matter where you add the ink as long as the stamp is covered. I then laid a piece of Basic White card stock onto the top of the stamp and moved my fingers all around the card stock to ensure that the ink went on the card.

then cut this stamped card stock to make a mat layer and added it to a Granny Apple Green portrait card base. Next I stamped the ‘Sending Hugs’ sentiment from the Layering Leaves onto a piece of Basic White card stock using Garden Green ink.

I then punched out the sentiment using the Labeled with Love punch (or you can use the Labeled with Love dies). Then I added some White Bakers Twine to the back of the punched sentiment before adding it to the card front.

For my second card I again added the colour to the stamp using sponge daubers before stamping another piece of Basic White card stock. This time I cut it into three strips and added them to a Granny Apple Green mat layer before adding this to a landscape Basic White card base. I stamped the sentiment as before but this time I added some Iridescent 1/2″ Striped Trim behind the sentiment.

For my final card I decided to change the Basic White card stock for Basic Beige card stock. Again I inked the stamp using sponge daubers, placed the card stock onto and then added it to a Lemon Lime Twist landscape card base. I stamped the sentiment the same way as my previous cards but this time I punched another shape using the Lemon Lime Twist card stock. I cut this shape in half before sticking tot he back of my sentiment and added it to the card front.

I really loved colouring stamps to make simple greeting cards and found it so relaxing. if you would like to see how I made them in detail then click here to visit my YouTube video.

Please do have a go yourself and you will be amazed at how easy it is to make simple greeting cards.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
