Welcome to this month’s Colour Combo Blog Hop
This month’s three colours are Blushing Bride, Cinnamon Cider and Mango Melody
For my blog hop today I thought I would use the Free as a Bird stamp set for my colour combo card. It is a stamp set I rarely use and I had it sitting on my shelf. Of all of the Stampin’ Up! colours Blushing Bride has to be my least favourite as I think it is a muddy pink. But as this was a colour combo I had to give it a go.
How to make the Colour Combo card
I started off with a A4 piece of Basic White Thick card stock and cut it in half along the long side to make the card base.
Next I cut a 10cm x 14.3cm mat layer using Blushing Bride card stock.
I then stamped the large image from the Free as a Bird stamp set using Black memento ink onto Basic White card stock. Now came my favourite part of card making colouring in images. I decided to use the re-inkers and an Aqua Pen to colour in the image. By using three Blushing Bride re-inker to colour in the blossom it meant I could use the two other colours on the birds. Once I had finished in the colouring the image I thought it looked better than I thought it would.
Next I stamped the Thank You sentiment onto a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I then used the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to die cut out the coloured image and the sentiment.
Putting the Colour Combo card together
I decided the Blushing Bride mat layer was too flat so I used the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder to give it some texture. I then stuck the mat layer onto the card base before adding the stamped image. Finally I added the sentiment to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I am really pleased whith how this Colour Combo card turned out and even better how quick and easy it was to make.
