Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share Monthly Blog Hop

The theme this month is a Colour Challenge

Ink, Stamp, Share - Colour Challenge

Unfortunately we can be certain that sometime in our life we will lose someone we love and care for. It is often during this time that you want to send a Sympathy Card. I decided that for this Colour Challenge I would make a Sympathy Card. I decided to use the Prized Peony stamp set as it has some lovely sentiments and is another stamp set that was just sitting on my shelf.

How I made my Colour Challenge Sympathy Card

First I started by cutting a 9.5cm x 13.8cm piece of Watercolour Paper. Next I stamped the large peony image using memento ink. Then I coloured it in using an aqua painter and a couple of drops of each colour reinker. I loved how I could blend the colours together and build up the darkness of each colour. I used Petal Pink for the middle parts of the petal moving to Polished Pink and then Rich Razzleberry for the outer edge. Next I coloured the leaves using Soft Sea Foam for the whole leaf and Soft Succulent for the darker bits.

I added a strip of Soft Succulent Open Weave ribbon to the bottom of the watercolour layer and tied a smaller piece around it to make a simple bow.

Next I cut a 10cm x 14.3cm piece of Soft Succulent card stock to make the mat layer. I then stuck the watercolour mat layer onto it before adding it to the card base.

Finishing touches to my Colour Challenge Sympathy Card

For the sentiment I tried stamping it with the Polished Pink ink but it was too bright so I decided to use Rich Razzleberry ink. I also tried stamping it on Basic White card stock but it stood out from the watercolour paper so I stamped it on the watercolour paper. I then die cut it out using one of the Tasteful Labels dies before using Stampin’ Dimensionals to add it to the card front.

To finish off the card I added a Soft Succulent jewel from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

I hope you have loved seeing my Colour Challenge Sympathy Card. Why not have a go at making one yourself.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
