Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share October Showcase Blog Hop

For my showcase blog hop this month I wanted to share with you the Christmas Double Z-Fold card I made for World Card Making Day last Saturday. I had to make a YouTube video of how to make this card and it was used to showcase 24 hours of card making. I must admit the card was way easier to make than making the video.

Making the Christmas Double Z-Fold Card

I started with a sheet of Basic White Thick card stock and cut it in half to make the first card base. Next I cut a 9cm x 26cm piece of Basic White card stock to make the second card base.

I then cut a 10cm x 14.3cm piece of Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper. Next I cut two 10cm x 7cm pieces of the same DSP and stuck all three onto the first card base.

I then cut a 8.5cm x 13.5cm of matching DSP and stuck it to the second card base. Next I cut a 7.5cm x 11.5cm piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock and a 7cm x 11cm piece of Basic White card. I then chose the sentiment and stamped it onto the Basic White mat layer using Evening Evergreen ink. Before sticking onto the Cherry Cobbler mat layer.

Making the Poinsettia decoration

I then die cut the poinsettia flowers from Cherry Cobbler card stock using both the edge die and the embossing die. Using the leaf edge and embossing dies I die cut two sets of each leaf size. Finally using the seed head die I die cut two seed heads using Silver Foil.

Next I used Whisper White Craft ink and a sponge dauber to sponge the edges white to look like frosting. I did this on both the poinsettia petals and the leaves.

I then stuck the poinsettia flower layers together ensuring that they overlapped to make a complete flower. This I stuck to the sentiment mat layer. I then added the leaves and seed heads behind the poinsettia flower. For the poinsettia middle I used six Rhinestone Jewels.

Next I stuck the two card bases together to make the double z-fold card. Finally I added the poinsettia sentiment mat layer to the card base.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Christmas Double Z-Fold card. Please do go away and have a go at making one yourself. I certainly will and will try non traditional colours for the poinsettia.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
