Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop

The theme this month is to CASE one of our Stamptastic Friends

For this blog Hop I decided to CASE a card that my good friend Heather Thomas made using the Paper Piecing Technique. Heather is a fellow demo who loves colouring in and what better way to relax than to stamp and image and colour it in.

You may be wondering what CASE actually means. Well it is when you Copy and Share Everything from a project or card.

Here is Heather’s card using Paper Piecing Technique

How to make the card using the Paper Piecing Technique

I decided to copy the card layout but changed the colours used and used a different designer series paper. I started by cutting a 14.85cm x 10.5cm piece of Basic White Thick card stock for the card base. Next I cut a 14.3cm x 10cm piece of Basic White card stock for my mat layer. I rarely use a Basic White mat layer on a Basic White card base.

I then cut a 8.5cm x 8.5cm piece of Basic White card stock. Then I stamped one of the images from the In the Moment stamp set using Black Memento Ink. I then stamped the same image onto a piece of scrap Symbols of Fortune designer series paper before cutting out the dress.

Next I coloured in the image using Blends. I used the 800 and 700 Medium Light Natural Tone Blends for her arms and the Bronze blend for her hair. Next I coloured in the table using Crumb Cake Blends and So Saffron Blends for her hat. Finally I coloured in the sky with the light Balmy Blue Blend and the wine using the light Petal Pink Blend.

I then stuck the cut out dress onto the image. Next I cut a 9cm x 9cm piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and stuck the finished image onto it. I then laid the image onto the main card and stamped the sentiment underneath it using Black Memento ink.

Finally I stuck the matted image onto the main card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing both mine and Heather’s cards. I loved revisiting the Paper Piecing Technique again. So the next time you are stuck for an idea why not find a card you like and CASE it.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
