Welcome to this Month’s Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop
This month the theme is a Colour Challenge
When I saw this Colour Challenge I though I would try to replicate a silhouette card that I made previously using Basic Black card stock for my images but this time to see if I could do it using Basic Grey for my die cuts.
How I made my card using the Colour Challenge
I started by cutting two card bases using one A4 sheet of Basic White Thick card, cutting and scoring it in half. I next cut two 13.8cm x 9.5cm mat layers using Basic White card stock. Finally I cut two 14.3cm x 10cm mat layers from Basic Grey card stock.
How I made the background for my card using the Colour Challenge
I started by smooshing Balmy Blue ink over the Basic White mat layer using a blending brush. I then followed by smooshing Mango Melody again using a blending brush. Once I was happy with the mat layers I spritzed each one with water using a Stampin Spritzer and drying off using a tissue. This lifted the colour of the may layer.
When I was happy with how my background mat layers looked I stuck them onto the Basic Grey mat layers and then onto the Basic White Thick card bases.
How I finished my card using the Colour Challenge
I started by die cutting the flowers from the Harvest dies using Basic Grey card stock. Next I stuck these onto the blended background trimming the ends if the stems to fit. I then smooshed a scrap of Basic White card stock using Mango Melody ink and Balmy Blue ink and stamped the sentiment using Basic Grey ink. Next I die cut it using one of the small tag dies to make a sentiment layer. This I added to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I added some Basic Grey Matt Dots as embellishments.
I am really pleased in how this card turned out and I certainly did not expect this colour challenge to work so well together. Why not have a go yourself at making a card using this Colour Challenge and share it on my Facebook Page.
Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
