Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.
The theme this month is: A sketch.
The theme for this month has been decided by the talented Margaret Hammersley Spencer.
How I made my Bright and Bold scrapbook layout.
When I saw the sketch my first thoughts were yay butterflies then I noticed what looked like a couple of Memories and More cards peeking out from behind the photographs. This made me think of the new Thoughtful Journey pack of Memories and More cards and the matching designer series paper.
First of all I started with a piece of 12×12 Basic White card stock. Next I chose which of the lovely Thoughtful Journey 6×6 papers I would use and decided on the Pretty Peacock and Blackberry Bliss papers. Though it was hard not to use the flowery landscape sides instead. Then using the Spotlight on Nature stamp set I stamped the hatched image using Pretty peacock Ink. I then stamped the splodge of dots using Blackberry Bliss ink onto the Basic White card stock leaving a gap to stamp the butterfly image again using Blackberry Bliss ink.
Now came the hard bit cutting up the paper. I cut each 6×6 piece in half so that I could stagger the each piece. Then I chose one of the large Memories and More cards and a small Memories and More card and stuck them at a slant onto the page.
How I made the photo and journaling mat layers for my Bright and Bold scrapbook layout.
I then tried using Basic White photo mat layers but they looked odd so I decided to use Basic Black card stock instead for my photo mat layers. These I cut to size and added them to the scrapbook layout. To lighten them up a little bit I decided to edge them with a hand drawn white line using a white gel pen. I do love adding a bit of doodling on a scrapbook layout.
How I embellished my Bright and Bold scrapbook layout.
First I stamped the sentiment ‘ My heart will always be tied to you’ from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set using Pretty Peacock ink. I chose that sentiment as I thought it went well with the White Bakers Twine. I then die cut it out using the Wonderful Thoughts dies. These dies cut around the sentiment therefore making it different. Finally as I love butterflies I smooched Pretty Peacock ink and Blackberry Bliss ink using Sponge Daubers onto the Paper Butterfly Accents and added them to the scrapbook layout.
I would not normally use these colours but they go so well together. I think I will use this layout to add in some photographs of my daughter’s wedding at the end of May. Then I will be able to complete the actual title and do some journaling.
I do hope that you have enjoyed seeing how I made my Bright and Bold scrapbook layout. Why not have a go at this scrapbook layout sketch or have a look at one of the scrapbook layout sketches I do each month on my social channels.
