Ink, Stamp, Share Showcase Blog Hop Image

Welcome to this month’s Ink, Stamp, Share Showcase Blog Hop.

For this month’s showcase hop I have made a belated birthday card for a Team Swap as I often am either last minute or I have forgotten a birthday. For this card I chose to use the Cheerful Daisies Bundle from the new annual catalogue to make it as it has the most appropriate sentiment for a belated birthday card. ‘Oops-a-daisy So Sorry’

How I made my Belated Birthday Card

First I started with an A6 tent fold card base using Fresh Freesia card stock. Next I cut a Basic White card stock mat layer. I then stamped the small daisy outline stamp onto the Basic White mat layer using Fresh Freesia ink.

Next I die cut a Fresh Freesia card stock mat layer using the xxx die from the Scalloped Contours dies.

Then using a scrap piece of Basic White card stock I stamped the large daisy image using Black Memento ink, I then stamped the infill daisy image using Fresh Freesia ink. Finally I stamped the large flower middle using Lemon Lolly ink before die cutting the whole daisy image out.

Next I die cut two of the leafy bits using Lost Lagoon card stock. I thought I would miss being able to use the Soft Succulent colour but Lost Lagoon is a definite replacement for it.

How I made the sentiment for my belated birthday card.

Next using a scrap on Basic White card stock I die cut out the sentiment layer and stamped the sentiment onto it using Lost Lagoon ink. I then die cut another sentiment layer using Fresh Freesia and Lost Lagoon. Next I cut each of these in half length wise and laid the stamped sentiment on to to see which one went with the card. I decided that the Lost Lagoon looked the best. I then stuck the cut Lost Lagoon layer onto the back of the sentiment layer.

How I finished off the front of my belated birthday card.

I laid the Fresh Freesia mat layer and the sentiment layer onto the card base to decide where i wanted them to go. Once I was happy I stuck the Fresh Freesia mat layer down and added the leafy bits using glue dots. I added the large daisy on top of the leafy bits using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then added the sentiment at the bottom of the card base again using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I added three of the Brushed Brass Butterflies just because I love butterflies.

How I finished off the inside of my belated birthday card.

As I have used a coloured card base I needed to add a Basic White mat layer to the inside so that you could write on it. I decided to stamp the smaller daisy image again using Black Memento ink, Fresh Freesia ink, and Lemon Lolly ink.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I made my belated birthday card. Whilst typing this up I realised the card could also be used if someone had fallen over and hurt themself. Why not have a go at making a card using this stamp set and matching dies and of course please share it on my Facebook page.

Until next time, keep stampin n crafting,
